Order a cake

Order from the catalogue or from your own design, approve the price, pay, and track it to the door.

On this page

What it is

A cake order. You either pick a design from the catalogue, which has a price, or submit your own design, which our team prices before anything is charged. Once you approve the price and pay, it goes into the kitchen.

When to use it

Four to six weeks before the event for a custom cake; less for a catalogue design, but earlier is safer.

Who can use it

Anyone can browse. Ordering and tracking needs an account.

Where to find it

Before you start

  • The date you need it, how many people it must serve, and where it is going.

Step by step

  1. Choose a design from the catalogue, or design your own.

  2. Set the details: tiers and shapes (round, square, heart, hexagon), servings, flavours, colours, decoration style, topper and any message.

  3. Add dietary requirements — vegan, gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, nut free, keto, halal or kosher.

Say it here rather than in a note. Dietary requirements change how the cake is made, not just how it is decorated.

  4. Choose delivery or pickup, and set the date it is needed.

  5. Submit the order.

  6. If it is a custom design, wait for our price. You are emailed when the quote is ready.

  7. Review the quote and approve it.

  8. Pay the deposit — or the full amount where that is what is asked — which confirms the order and holds your date.

  9. Follow the stages in Cake Orders.

  10. Settle any balance, and collect or receive the cake.

What you should end up with

A tracked order that shows exactly where it is: order received, price confirmed, approved by you, payment received, in the kitchen, ready, out for delivery, handed over, completed.

Options and settings

Catalogue order
A published design with a known starting price.
Custom design
Your own design, priced by our team before anything is charged.
Delivery
We bring it to an address you give.
Pickup
You collect it.

Common mistakes

  • Ordering for the number of guests rather than the number who will eat cake.
  • Approving a quote and then not paying, which leaves the date unheld. The date is held by the payment, not the approval.
  • Putting a dietary requirement in the special-instructions box instead of the dietary field.
  • Assuming a catalogue price is final. It is a starting price; options and size change it.

If something goes wrong

My order has no price.
Custom designs are priced by our team. You will be emailed when the quote is ready — usually within a couple of working days.
The quote I approved is no longer valid.
The price was revised after you opened it. Open the current quote and approve that one — you are never held to a price we have since changed.
I paid but the order still says awaiting payment.
Confirmation comes from the payment processor. Refresh after a minute; if it has not moved after ten, contact support.
I need to cancel.
Ask to cancel from the order page. A cancellation request is logged for our team; what happens next depends on how far into production it is.

Worth knowing

  • Take a photo of the design you approved. It makes the conversation on the day much shorter if anything is off.
