Guests, RSVPs & Check-In
Set up check-in devices
Register the phones and tablets that will scan guests in, and choose what each one is allowed to do.

What it is
Each device that will check guests in gets registered once and given a role. It then opens its own check-in screen without anyone signing into your account on the door.
When to use it
A day or two before the event, while you still have time to test it.
Who can use it
The event owner, and platform staff. The check-in screens themselves are opened by whoever holds the device link.
Where to find it
- Open an event → Check-In → Setup
Before you start
- A guest list — check-in works against it.
- The phones or tablets you will actually use on the day.
Step by step
Open your event and go to Check-In Setup.
Add a device, name it something you will recognise ("Front door iPad"), and choose its role.
Open the device link on that phone or tablet.
The link carries the device's own access. Treat it like a key — anyone with it can check guests in.
Test it with a real guest record before the day.
Repeat for each device.
What you should end up with
Options and settings
- Kiosk
- Unattended. A guest scans their own code. The narrowest permissions.
- Staff
- Someone on the door scanning guests in, able to search by name.
- Manager
- Staff powers plus overrides — letting in someone whose record says otherwise, with a reason recorded.
- Usher screen
- A separate view for pointing guests at the right table rather than checking them in.
Common mistakes
- Setting devices up on the day. Venue wifi is the classic failure point — test in advance.
- Sharing one manager link with everybody. Give each device its own, with the narrowest role that works.
- Deactivating a device and expecting its open screen to close immediately. Close the browser on the device too.
If something goes wrong
- The device link will not open.
- Check the device is still active in Setup, and that the tablet has a working connection.
- A device shows as never active.
- The link has not been opened on it yet. Open the link on that device.
