Getting Started
A sensible order to do things in
The path most hosts follow in their first week, and why this order saves rework.
What it is
A suggested sequence for the first week after you create an event.
When to use it
Right after your first event exists and the number of options feels like a lot.
Who can use it
Any signed-in user.
Where to find it
Step by step
Set a realistic guest count on the event.
Per-guest budget lines and the Concierge price both read this number, so getting it roughly right first avoids redoing the budget.
Run the budget calculator to get a total you can live with, before you talk to anyone about money.
Generate a checklist so the tasks exist somewhere other than your head.
Build the guest list — type a few names or import a spreadsheet.
Build the RSVP form and set a deadline.
Do this before you send anything: the link you share points at the form, and changing the questions after replies start arriving leaves gaps.
Publish the event page, then share the link.
Only now start ordering things — décor, rentals, cake, vendors. By this point you know the headcount and the budget.
What you should end up with
Common mistakes
- Sending the RSVP link before the form is finished. Guests who reply early never see the questions you add later.
- Ordering catering before the guest count is settled.
- Building the event page before deciding whether the event should be publicly visible.
Worth knowing
- Set the RSVP deadline earlier than you think you need. Every supplier will want final numbers before you have them.
